Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows holding job fair Nov. 2

October 31, 2017 By Jeffrey Weidel

If working at a premier Lake Tahoe ski resort this season seems like a great idea, the folks at Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows may have a job for you.

Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows will host one winter job fair for 2017-18 positions, which will take place Thursday, Nov. 2, starting at 3 p.m. Interviews with hiring managers will take place in Olympic Village Lodge on a first-come, first-served basis. However, many departments have a goal to fill job openings before the job fair, so interested applicants are advised to apply online in advance.

Each year, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows hires more than 1,800 part-time and full-time seasonal employees for a variety of positions.

New skiing and riding benefits will provide full-time employees of Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows and their dependents with free skiing at 12 mountain resorts across the United States and Canada, including: Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, Snow Summit, Bear Mountain and June Mountain in California; Steamboat Resort and Winter Park Resort in Colorado; Blue Mountain Ski Resort in Ontario; Mont Tremblant Resort in Quebec; Stratton Mountain Resort in Vermont; and Snowshoe Mountain Resort in West Virginia.

Also new this year, part-time and on-call employees will receive season passes to Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows with limited access to the 10 other mountain resorts mentioned above. Eligible dependents can pay a nominal fee to activate their dependent ski pass privileges. With flexible work schedules and perks, locals can enjoy skiing or snowboarding at Squaw and Alpine all winter long.

Each year, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows hires more than 1,800 part-time and full-time seasonal employees for a variety of positions. The resort plans to increase permanent employment opportunities in the future with the completion of The Village at Squaw Valley Redevelopment Project. Once approved, the project will create over 500 new full-time, year-round, jobs that will protect the local economy and offer more stable employment to local families.

“We’re continuing to ride the excitement of last year’s record-breaking season, and are looking forward to ramping up the 2017-18 season by welcoming new and returning employees to the mountain,” said Brittany Clelan, Vice President of Human Resources at Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows. “We’re proud to offer our valued employees some of the best benefits in the industry, and show our appreciation with these impressive and extensive new ski privileges. Employees now have the ability to ski for free at six different mountains in California alone, including Mammoth Mountain, which is something we’re very excited to offer.”

Squaw Valley is known for its expert runs that often draws daring skiers and riders.

Located in Truckee off Highway 89 in North Lake Tahoe, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows hires and trains for all seasonal positions, which include parking attendants, Tram and Funitel operators, ticket sales, snow removal operators, groomers, snowmakers, culinary positions, lift operators, ski team coaches and more. The resort says it offers competitive wages and a great work environment. Individuals interested in ski instruction are encouraged to apply, whether certified or not, as Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows offers complimentary instructor academy training to become certified.

Along with a flexible scheduling system, and a variety of indoor and outdoor positions, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows’ active full-time, part-time and holiday seasonal employees will receive notable benefits at Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, including a free, unrestricted season pass, a 50-percent discount on food at the resort, discount on Ski Teams and season long Ski School for dependents and 25 percent off retail items.

Employees are also extended discounts for local yoga and deep lodging discounts at several resorts including The Village at Squaw Valley, Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, CA, Outrigger Hotels and Resorts in the Hawaiian islands, Fiji, Thailand, Mauritius and the Maldives and Davidson Hotels and Resorts including Hyatt, Sheraton, Hilton, Doubletree, Hilton Garden Inn, Embassy Suites, Marriott, Renaissance and Courtyards, Westin and independents across the continental U.S.
