Squaw Valley offers to-go Thanksgiving dinner

November 18, 2020 By admin

Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows is adding a new wrinkle for the upcoming holiday – a day of skiing or snowboarding and afterward picking up a Thanksgiving dinner to go!

Hit the slopes in the morning and enjoy the long, winding groomer runs on Red Dog and Squaw Creek, then pick up Thanksgiving dinner at the base of Squaw Valley on the way out.

The Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows Thanksgiving Dinner has undergone a coronavirus adaptation this year. A to-go dinner is a great option for people who want to spend the day skiing or riding – the resort opens one day before Thanksgiving on Nov. 25 – and not have to worry about cooking when they get home.

Hit the slopes in the morning and enjoy the long, winding groomer runs on Red Dog and Squaw Creek, then pick up Thanksgiving dinner at the base of Squaw Valley on the way out.

Note the meal must be pre-ordered by Saturday, Nov. 21. Click here to order.

THANKSGIVING DINNER: An herb-roasted turkey breast and prime rib, classic holiday side dishes like green bean casserole and roasted garlic mashed potatoes, along with signature dishes like sourdough and focaccia stuffing with Italian sausage and sage, and roasted vegetables with white balsamic gastrique.

The meal also includes the traditional holiday dessert – Chef Cortney’s mini pumpkin and pecan pies. There is also an optional offering of red and white wine pairings and Martinelli’s sparkling apple cider that can be added to the order.

Each meal will be hot and ready to eat, and packaged for a mess-free transportation home.

COST: Dinner for two is $95 and dinner for four is $180. Optional wine pairings are $25 per bottle.

Pick up time is 3:30-5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day in the Olympic House. Guests must wear a mask and practice social distancing inside the building.

For more information or to change the pick-up time slot, email banquetsSVAM@squawalpine.com.

REESIDENTIAL REWARDS PROGRAM: Squaw-Alpine has a Residential Rewards program, which incentivizes local homeowners to rent to its employees in exchange for a $600 Squaw Alpine gift card.

The ski resort is interested in finding housing options (homes, rooms, condos, apartments) in Tahoe City, Truckee, Kings Beach, Carnelian Bay, Tahoe Vista, Olympic Valley or Alpine Meadows.

A gift card can be redeemed in Squaw Alpine-owned retail stores, restaurants and food service locations, as well as for lift tickets, lessons, demos and rentals. They can be used for an online purchase only if the person calls into the call center first (800 403-0206).

Gift cards are not valid toward Ikon products. Register rental information before Jan. 1, 2021 to be eligible for the program.

For more information, contact the Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows Human Resources department at housing@squawalpine.com or  call 530 452-7112.
