Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe hosts Foodie weekend Oct. 4-5

September 26, 2014 By Jeffrey Weidel

This is a weekend event with foodies in mind. The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe will stage the resort’s first Epicurean Weekend, October 3-5.

Foodies will enjoy a weekend full of culinary experiences, all centered around food, and include the opportunity to cook alongside the resort’s culinary team, as well as a special dinner presentation prepared by local celebrity chef Mark Estee of Campo, chez louie, Burger Me! and Heritage, and Executive Chef Stanley Miller of The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe.Ritz-Carlton cooking shot

“We had so much fun throughout the summer inviting guests into the resort’s kitchens that we’ve decided to add to our already scheduled fall events and for the first time, introduce a weekend of culinary-inspired activities,” said Stanley Miller, Executive Chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe. “Our goal is to offer guests the opportunity to not only cook a meal alongside our culinary team, but to welcome one of the most talented chefs in the region into our kitchen as we work together to prepare a special dinner for resort and local guests.”

Recognized as a staple among the regional food community, and as having business practices that are progressive, thoughtful and direct, Estee has had a tremendous impact on the culinary offerings in northern Nevada and northern California. He has implemented sustainable practices such as his “Whole Hog Philosophy,” and spearheading relationships between chefs and local farmers and ranchers. Menu offerings at his seven restaurants encompass his philosophy of offering simple, seasonal, fresh and local dishes.

Guests dining at Manzanita on Saturday evening, October 4, but not participating in the Epicurean Weekend, can enjoy the a 5-course meal prepared by Chefs Estee and Miller for $85 per person or $110 per person with wine pairings.

Chefs Estee and Miller will alternate in preparing courses during the Epicurean dinner, showcasing a cornucopia of fall harvest and game. Up to 150 advance reservations will be accepted, based on availability requiring a credit card at time of confirmation.

Reservations can be made by contacting Manzanita’s reservationist at 530-562-3121.Ritz-Cartlon lodging kitchen
