This week’s winter storm produced 14 inches of new snow at Mt. Rose ski resort, and consistently cold overnight temperatures have allowed the resort to continue to run its snowmaking system and open additional terrain.

“Mt. Rose has continued to receive snow throughout the week, allowing us to open additional terrain and provide our guests with access to incredible early season conditions including some of the best snow coverage and most open terrain in the region,” said Mike Pierce, director of marketing at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe. “These storms have provided us with a solid base that is ideal as we gear up to welcome holiday visitors over the next several weeks.”

The National Weather Service forecast calls for a system to move in Friday with the next chance for snow before clearing is expected through the holidays.

Located off Mt. Rose Highway in Nevada, Mt. Rose ski resort can boast Lake Tahoe’s highest base elevation at 8,260 feet ensuring supreme snow conditions even on the warmest spring days and the resort’s 1,200 acres feature an ample variety of runs ideal for every level of skier & snowboarder.
