With the Tahoe ski season only months away or possible less, Palisades Tahoe has offered a look at what the 2025-26 ski season will resemble.

Palisades Tahoe is planning multiple upgrades on and off the mountain this season, including new snowmaking investments, parking program enhancements, elevated après experiences, and numerous events.
The Olympic Valley ski resort in Lake Tahoe has set an opening date for Wednesday Nov. 26, one day prior to Thanksgiving. The scheduled opener is contingent on weather and conditions.
New Lift Access Gates: Palisades has replaced 64 existing lift access gates to improve guest flow and reduce congestion in lift lines. In addition, it has transitioned from swing-arm turnstiles to flapper-style gates that simply open and close, creating a more seamless entry experience. For best results, guests should keep their pass on the left side of their body when going through the gates.
Mountain Sports School: The resort is expanding its Mountain Sports School offerings to provide more flexibility and value for guests.
New Group Lesson 4 Packs will make it easier for skiers and riders to build skills consistently over multiple days.
In addition, there are new afternoon mogul clinics designed for intermediate to advanced skiers looking to sharpen their bump technique.
KT Bass Bar Expanded Entertainment: The popular bar will feature 53 days of live DJs and artist performances. The area will have a new roof for weather protection and upgraded lighting and sound to amplify the vibe.
Improved Snowmaking

- 8 fully automated fan guns have been installed on the Dance Floor trail at the Alpine side of the resort. These state-of-the-art machines automatically power on and off when conditions are right, making them more energy- and water-efficient than older models.
- 3 air compressors have been added to the Alpine area. Air, along with cold temperatures and water, is one of the three essential components of snowmaking. These compressors expand capacity and boost efficiency across the system.
- A new pipe and valve system has been installed near the base area, increasing the ability to make snow on both Mountain Run and the Snow King area, two of the resort’s most popular trails.
Carpool Parking Program: Palisades Tahoe is introducing Carpool 4-plus parking reservations as part of our expanded parking program. Each Tuesday at noon, reservations will open online for the upcoming weekend and holiday periods.
When skiers and riders arrive, vehicles with four or more passengers can check in with a parking attendant to confirm eligibility. As a thank you for reducing traffic and supporting sustainability, carpool drivers will receive a $20 resort voucher.
Mountaineer Expands Service: The free on-demand micro-transit in Olympic Valley and Alpine Meadows, will expand its fleet by one bus this winter to cut wait times. The Mountaineer shuttle bus starts running Dec. 6 and goes through April 19. The dog-friendly service has ski racks for convenience.
Toyota US Mogul Freestyle Championships: For the second year in a row, Palisades Tahoe in partnership with Olympic Valley Freestyle, will host the Toyota U.S. Freestyle Championships from March 27-29 on the Red Dog course.

The event will bring together the nation’s top moguls and dual moguls skiers as they compete for national titles in one of the most challenging disciplines in winter sports.
Rahlves Bonzai: After a 10-year hiatus, the legendary Rahlves’ Banzai Tour is making a return to Palisades Tahoe – April 10-12.
The adrenaline-fueled race was created by U.S. ski icon and Red Bull athlete Daron Rahlves, a longtime Tahoe resident. It combines big mountain freeride terrain with the head-to-head intensity of ski and snowboard cross.
The event will be staged on KT-22 with racers charging down natural terrain features in a no-holds-barred battle to the finish.
