June 7, 2025 By Jeffrey Weidel

Looking for some fun activities for your children to do this summer in the Lake Tahoe region? Sugar Bowl ski resort has some great options.

Pros will guide campers through rock climbs and scrambles with stunning views above Donner Lake.

Sugar Bowl Summer Camps are now open to campers age 4 to 17, offering new sessions designed for all youthful explorers. Whether you’ve got a curious 4-year-old or an adventure-hungry teenager, Sugar Bowl has a camp experience ready for them.

ACTIVITIES

  • HIKING: Campers will explore high-alpine trails, splash through streams, and summit Sierra ridgelines around Lake Tahoe and the Pacific Crest Trail, learning to navigate terrain, spot wildlife, and gain real wilderness skills.
  • WATER FUN: From kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding on Donner Lake, to off-the-map swim spots and a guided whitewater rafting trips, campers dive into mountain water adventures all week long.
  • ROCK CLIMBING: Visit the granite walls of Donner Summit, where pros will guide campers through rock climbs and scrambles with stunning views above Donner Lake.
  • ROPES & MORE: Camp-wide games, high ropes, disc golf, trail yoga, nature crafts – every day blends outdoor adventure with classic summer camp fun.

Sugar Bowl’s expanded program now includes new sessions for ages 4-7 with age-appropriate adventure and play. The offerings are small group sizes and led by expert counselors.

This summer season Sugar Bowl has expanded camp weeks to include all of July, providing more options for families to consider. The activities include high alpine hikes, hidden streams and lakeside fun.
