New United Airlines flight routes provide access to Mammoth Mountain ski resort

August 17, 2014 By Jeffrey Weidel

Getting to Mammoth Mountain ski resort just got easier. The resort, located in the Eastern Sierra range in California, will now have new United Airlines flight routes into Mammoth Lakes airport, via Denver and Las Vegas.

This is the first flight to Mammoth not originating in California, which makes it much easier for those in the Midwest and East to access Mammoth. Offered by United Airlines, the flight will run on Saturdays beginning Dec. 20, 2014.Mammoth great panoramic view

“When looking at new markets for air service to Mammoth Lakes, Denver came up for a number of reasons,” said John Urdi, Executive Director of Mammoth Lakes Tourism. “MammothMountain has always been a bucket list resort for true skiers and riders, but access has been somewhat of a challenge.”

Denver is a hub for other key markets such as Chicago, and Newark, N.J.San Francisco is another United hub servicing Mammoth Lakes.

“With weekly service from Denver, not only do we connect to the East Coast, Midwest and South, but we add new international access as well,” Urdi added.

With a brand new tasting room open for winter 14-15, that’s not likely to change anytime soon.
  • New to the Mammoth dining scene, Mammoth Tavern serves up delicious food, artfully crafted cocktails and plenty of ambiance in an elegantly and comfortably appointed dining room.
