January 24, 2016 By Jeffrey Weidel

After a few years away from the popular Lake Tahoe ski resort, Steven Hemphill is back at Sierra-at-Tahoe in a new role.

Earlier this month, Sierra-at-Tahoe announced that Hemphill was returning as the new Director of Marketing and Sales. He was previously employed at Sierra-at-Tahoe as the Communication Manager before leaving to work at K2 Sports as the Digital and Social Manager.

Earlier this month, Sierra-at-Tahoe announced that Hemphill was returning as the new Director of Marketing and Sales. He was previously employed at Sierra-at-Tahoe as the Communication Manager before leaving to work at K2 Sports as the Digital and Social Manager.

While at K2, Hemphill helped grow their digital presence and execute a wide variety of global digital campaigns. Hemphill has also worked at Freeskier Magazine where he was an assistant editor. In 2014, Hemphill was recognized by Ski Area Management Magazine as a top individual in the snow sports industry under-30 years of age.

“Steve has a tremendous skill set that includes public relations, digital management, content production, customer service, athlete management and more,” said Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort General Manager John Rice.

“He also has a passion for people and getting them on snow. He’s going to make a great addition to the team and we’re excited to have him.”

Located off Highway 50 near South Lake Tahoe, Sierra-at-Tahoe features wind-protected slopes, tree skiing, and 320 acres of backcountry terrain out the Huckleberry Gates. For beginner skiers and riders, Sierra offers over 100 acres of dedicated learning terrain, four beginner-only conveyor lifts and PSIA Certified Instructors.

“I’m thrilled to be back at Sierra-at-Tahoe. It’s an incredible mountain that embodies what the soul of skiing and snowboarding is all about,” Hemphill said. “Whether it’s your first time or you are a local, Sierra resort has something for everyone. I couldn’t be more excited to continue pushing the mountain forward.”
