Squaw Valley ski resort open through Memorial Day Weekend

The ski season continues at Squaw Valley ski resort. The scenic Lake Tahoe resort is experiencing its longest ski season in a decade.

Although neighboring Alpine Meadows ski resort closed earlier this month, Squaw Valley remains open seven days a week. Squaw received several inches of new snow from the latest spring storm and on Sunday (May 22) was operating six lifts.

Squaw is holding May Madness, an event-filled finale to the season. Operating later than any other resort in the region, Squaw will resort will host a variety of events, including spring lift ticket deals, themed-parties at High Camp, a social media contest for a chance to win a GoPro and Oakley goggles, and the fourth annual Made in Tahoe Festival.

$19 Lift Ticket Deals through Memorial Day Weekend: With over 40 feet of cumulative snowfall this season, the resort is offering free skiing and riding for 2016-17 Tahoe Super Passholders. As an added May bonus, friends of 2015-16 or 2016-17 season passholders can purchase a lift ticket for just $19, limited to one per passholder. Passholders from another resort can also enjoy a $19 lift ticket deal.

Squaw chairlifts operate from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily, with the High Camp area and Aerial Tram open daily 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

May Madness High Camp Hot Tub Parties: Every Saturday and all of Memorial Day Weekend, High Camp (located at 8,200 feet) will have a party atmosphere. It’s a breathtaking place to kick off your boots after a day of spring skiing or riding and unwind on the top of the mountain. High Camp features a hot tub, bar, restaurant, and music from local DJs.

Made In Tahoe Festival – Memorial Day Weekend: This event celebrates all things local and hosts a wide array of offerings that are made in or inspired by the Lake Tahoe basin and Truckee areas. Local artisans, businesses, culinarians, organizations and entertainers will come together to celebrate music, food, clothing, and more.
