Palisades Tahoe $75 lift tickets opening day

September 17, 2024 By Jeffrey Weidel

To celebrate its 75th season, Palisades Tahoe will be selling opening day lift tickets at a discount cost of $75.

Palisades Tahoe has a tentative opening date of Nov. 27 for the 2024-25 season.

That’s a significant savings for skiers and riders who don’t have a season pass for the 2024-25 season. A year ago, adult lift tickets (age 18-69) cost between $229 to $269 for single day lift tickets.

Palisades Tahoe has a tentative opening date of Nov. 27. The venerable ski resort in Olympic Valley is California’s largest ski resort by skiable acres and has more than 30 lifts and 6,000 acres of skiable terrain across two mountains.

Palisades Tahoe will provide some new wrinkles at its venerable ski resort in Olympic Valley. The upcoming season will feature enhanced snowmaking operations and fresh dining experiences and showcase local partnerships and collaboration with Warren Miller Entertainment.

HONORING HISTORY: It all began on Nov. 24, 1949, when the first chairlift ascended the mountain, then the longest double chairlift in the world. The new Tahoe ski resort also had two rope tows.

Over the following decades, the resort (then known as Squaw Valley) gained global recognition by hosting the 1960 Winter Games. It subsequently expanded its terrain to include eight peaks by merging two mountain resorts, and now spans more than 6,000 skiable acres connected by the groundbreaking Base-to-Base Gondola that connects Palisades Tahoe to the Alpine side of the mountain.

Countless Olympians and World Cup athletes have called Palisades Tahoe their home mountain, and over a hundred ski movies have cemented it as a true testing ground. From introducing freeskiing to hosting memorable events like the Winter Olympics, World Cup races, and a Jerry Garcia concert, Palisades Tahoe has always been a ski resort that didn’t rest on its laurels.

SIERRA-AT-TAHOE JOINS IKON PASS: A second mountain in Lake Tahoe is now available for skiing and riding on the Ikon Pass.

For the 2024-25 season, Ikon passholders will have access to seven days at Sierra-at-Tahoe in south Lake Tahoe with no blackout dates, and Ikon Base passholders will have access to five days, with select blackout dates. Sierra will also be available on the Ikon Session Pass.
