Octoberfest comes to Palisades Tahoe

September 24, 2024 By Jeffrey Weidel

To experience a fun and unique beer drinking event this weekend, check out the The Village at Palisades Tahoe.

The Palisades Tahoe Village transforms this Saturday (Sept. 28) with Octoberfest activities.

The Village will come alive for the annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, Sept. 28. The event runs from noon to 6 p.m. The annual Palisades Tahoe Oktoberfest now features the authentic Erdinger Weissbier, new VIP packages, and expanded non-alcoholic options from our German partners at Paulaner – including Paulaner Sunset, Sunset Zero and Weizen-Radler.

The Village will transform into the largest Bavarian playground in North Lake Tahoe, complete with authentic German beer and food, Bavarian music and dance, plus the popular Oktobergames. Throughout the day, enjoy live entertainment by Joe Smiell’s 20 Piece Bavarian Band, the Almenrausch Schuhplattler Dance Troop, the Sierra Alphorns, and the Alpentanzer Schuhplattler Dance Troop, accompanied by the Alpentanz Kapelle Band.

Guests are encouraged to participate in the Oktoberfest Games featuring a Stein Race, a Brat Toss, and a Stein Holding Competition– all ages are welcome to compete.

OCTOBERFEST SCHEDULE

  • 1 p.m. Stein Race: Teams of 2 compete in a speed walk through an obstacle course.
  • 2:30 p.m. Brat Toss: Toss a bratwurst onto a keg, with each round adding difficulty. The last person standing wins.
  • 4 p.m. Stein Holding: Competitors hold a 1-liter stein full of water in one hand at shoulder height. Last competitor holding full steins wins.

Entry into the family-friendly festival is available at the door or at pre-sale price online, lederhosen and dirndls are highly encouraged. All event attendees must be 21 years or older with a valid ID to purchase beer.

The event is presented in partnership with the North Tahoe Community Alliance. For more information, visit the website or call 800 403.0206.
