Northstar California Resort offers plethora of summer activities

Although ski season concluded nearly two months ago, there’s still plenty of reasons to make a visit to Northstar California Resort in Lake Tahoe

Northstar offers family activities, events, and adventure throughout the summer season. It also invites guests to enjoy the extensive collection of fine shops and savor some of the region’s best dining options.Northstar Family Biking

Northstar Bike Park, Hike Park and Golf Course: New this summer, the Free Ride Pass offers unrestricted mountain biking at Northstar, Kirkwood, Keystone and Vail in Colorado, and Canyons Resort in Utah for $349. The Northstar Bike Park offers some of North America’s best riding, as well as the best location for all ability levels to learn.

The Northstar Bike Academy, Bike 101 lessons starting at $30, as well as Better Ride Bike Camps, private lessons, Trailblazers Summer Mountain Bike Camps for kids, and more. Summer race series include enduro, downhill and cross country throughout summer.

Hiking: The new Lift & Lunch Package includes an all-day lift ticket paired with lunch at the Downhill Grille. Hikers enjoy Northstar’s extensive network of mountain trails and scenic vistas, as well as the signature California-style atmosphere and classic American fare at the Downhill Grille’s mid-mountain location.Northstar - family hiking

Golf: Northstar Golf Course brings guests Tahoe’s best resort golf value with season passes starting at just $349 and summer greens fees starting at $45. Golfers can opt to apply a day’s greens fee toward the purchase of a season pass.

Shopping and Dining: In addition to offering 30 to 70 percent savings on select 2013-2014 items, shops in The Village at Northstar  – such as Patagonia, The North Face, Oakley, Burton, and many more – offer access to summer’s latest styles and trends.

Whether dining in The Village, mid-mountain, or at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe, Northstar offers one of the most diverse culinary experiences in the region. Guests can choose among more than 15 restaurants and locations – such as fresh sushi at Mikuni Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar, classic American fare at Downhill Grille, Mediterranean tapas and wine flights at Petra, award-winning decadence at Manzanita in The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe and beyond.

New this summer, the Martis Valley Grille will offer weekly Sunday brunch from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and guests receive their first mimosa on the house. In addition to Sunday brunch, Martis Valley Grille offers breakfast and lunch daily.

Summer Activities in The Village: There are myriad family activities throughout summer, such as miniature golf, roller skating, gem panning, Apex Bungy Trampoline and Mini Ropes Challenge, movies in The Village Cinemas, candle making and pottery painting, live music, wine walks, spa treatments, yoga classes, and s’mores roasting.

Tahoe Star Tours Offers New Dark Skies Cosmoarium at Northstar: Offered Thursday through Saturday throughout summer, Tahoe Star Tours offer guests an unparalleled view of the Sierra Nevada’s night sky.  Enjoy a narrated astronomy presentation, view the cosmos through state-of-the-art Celestron Telescopes, and enjoy complimentary cocoa, s’mores and coffee.  The new Cosmoarium is located near the entrance to Northstar near Castle Peak parking area.
