Although only three ski resorts remain open in the Lake Tahoe region, there are reasons to remain on the slopes this month.

Two more reasons surfaced this week. For the remainder of the season, Mt. Rose is offering $60 lift tickets for anyone presenting a season pass from another resort.
Also, a free shuttle service will transport skiers and riders from South Lake Tahoe to Kirkwood ski resort.
Mt. Rose: Located off the Mt. Rose Highway in Nevada, approximately 10 miles from Incline Village in North Lake Tahoe and 25 miles from Reno, Mt. Rose will honor a 2025-26 season pass from another resort at any ticket window. An adult ticket can be purchased for $60. Kids lift tickets for kids ages 15-under are $30.
Following last week’s late season storm that delivered 21 inches of fresh snow to the mountain and cold temperatures that allowed the resort to fire up its snowmaking system for three straight days, Mt. Rose is offering good spring snow conditions. Mt. Rose has not announced a closing date.
“The snow conditions are really fun right now. There’s no time like the present to take advantage of it and get in some great skiing and riding,” said Mt. Rose spokesperson Mike Pierce.
In addition, Mt. Rose has a stay “Open Late” Fridays and Saturdays with select lifts spinning from the main lodge until 6 p.m. further heightened by the Lakeview Deck apres experience.

Kirkwood: Of the three Vail Resorts in Lake Tahoe, only Kirkwood remains open. Both Northstar and Heavenly closed Easter Sunday (April 5). Kirkwood will remain open through April 19.
This free shuttle service, organized as a partnership between Heavenly and Kirkwood, provides a new option for skiers looking to avoid driving. Kirkwood is located off Highway 88, about 35 minutes from South Lake Tahoe.
Last week, Kirkwood received 17 inches of fresh snow to improve its conditions following a sizable lack of snow days this spring.
The shuttle offers first-come, first-served transportation departing from the Heavenly Village area to Kirkwood’s Village and Timber Creek. The shuttle is designed for commuters. Specific departure times and stop locations are available on Google Maps.
