Mt. Rose offering $60 lift tickets

April 23, 2025 By Jeffrey Weidel

In its 60th season, Mt. Rose ski resort is offering a deal that costs only $60.

Mt. Rose is situated in Nevada, located off the Mt. Rose Highway, approximately 10 miles from Incline Village in North Lake Tahoe and 25 miles from Reno.

Only four days remain before Mt. Rose closes for the season Sunday, April 27. The resort is offering season passholders from any Lake Tahoe-area ski resort a discounted $60 lift ticket to ski or ride at Mt. Rose.

Passholders can show their pass to receive $60 lift tickets for adults ($30 for children’s lift tickets). To take advantage of the deal, simply present a valid season pass at any Mt. Rose ticket window from Thursday (April 24) through Sunday’s closing day.

“We’ve had an incredible season and want to share in the stoke with skiers and riders as the winter comes to a close,” said Mike Pierce, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe marketing director.

Eight of the 12 Lake Tahoe resorts shut down Easter Sunday, April 20. That leaves three Tahoe resorts with their slopes still open, and two of them – Sugar Bowl, Mt. Rose – have closing dates of April 27. Note that Sugar Bowl is only open this week from Friday through Sunday (see information below). Lift tickets are available for $99.

In addition to discounted lift tickets in celebration of our 60th season, Mt. Rose will close the season with “Open Late” days Friday and Saturday, plus its annual Pond Skim event Saturday.

Skiers and riders can enjoy bonus turns on “Open Late” Friday and Saturday, with select lifts turning until 6 p.m. Music, food and drinks will be offered on the Mt. Rose view deck at the top of the Lakeview Express chair until 5:30 p.m.

In addition to discounted lift tickets, Mt. Rose will close the season with “Open Late” days planned Friday and Saturday, plus a Pond Skim event Saturday.

Mt. Rose is situated in Nevada, located off the Mt. Rose Highway, approximately 10 miles from Incline Village in North Lake Tahoe and 25 miles from Reno. The resort currently has snow depths upward of 5½ feet at the base and 7 feet at the summit.

As a bonus, those who purchase the $60 other resort season pass ticket during the last week of the season can apply their ticket purchase toward a Double Down Season Pass for the 2025-26 season and Mt. Rose will double the ticket credit ($120). Double Down Season Pass options range from $375 to $825 per adult if purchased by April 27.

Learn more about season passes here.

PALISADES TAHOE: The resort will remain open through Memorial Day (May 26) and is offering a sharable three lift-ticket package deal for the remainder of the season. The cost is $297.

Ski any 3 days for just $99 per day. Use all the tickets yourself or share them with others. All three tickets can be used on one day when sharing with friends or family.

Snow is expected in the Tahoe region this weekend. Sugar Bowl is predicting 8 inches of fresh snow for weekend skiers and riders.

SUGAR BOWL: The closest resort to Sacramento, Sugar Bowl will be selling $99 lift tickets when purchased online for its season-ending weekend.

The resort, located off Interstate 80 at Norden exit on Donner Summit, will have eight lifts and running with access to 92 runs, with more than half freshly groomed.

The weather forecast is calling for snow Saturday and Sunday. Sugar Bowl is predicting 8 inches of fresh snow in its forecast, setting the stage for a possible powder-filled season finale.
