Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month at Heavenly, Kirkwood, Northstar

January 5, 2015 By Jeffrey Weidel

If you’re contemplating learning skiing or snowboarding, there’s no time like the present. Lake Tahoe ski resorts Northstar California, Heavenly and Kirkwood are all participating in January’s Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month.

Heavenly Mountain Resort, Northstar California and Kirkwood Mountain are looking to provide instruction for first-time skiers and snowboarders, as well as intermediate and advanced participants to further elevate their skills through the ski and snowboard schools.

Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month is a national initiative that encourages children and adults to establish a strong skiing or riding foundation by taking lessons with a professional instructor. It also challenges current skiers and snowboarders to improve their skills through instruction and coaching.

“Guests have access to some of the most accomplished instructors and coaches at Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood,” said Pete Sonntag, vice president and chief operating officer at Heavenly Mountain Resort. “Winter sports are tremendous for maintaining a healthy lifestyle, enjoying breathtaking scenery and having fun with family and friends. We welcome guests of all ability levels to learn and to become lifelong participants.”

Heavenly: Adults can jump into the sport with two lessons for the price of one. The $179 package includes two consecutive days of half-day skiing or snowboarding lessons, limited access lift tickets and rental equipment. Half-day lessons are available at 10 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. This package is available with advanced purchase by calling 530542-6904.
