Lake Tahoe ski resorts reporting excellent conditions for Super Bowl weekend

Sierra-at-Tahoe SignSki resorts in Lake Tahoe were overjoyed today, thanks to a snow storm that is even better than anticipated, setting up great conditions for the Super Bowl weekend.

The snow began late Wednesday afternoon in the Lake Tahoe region and the snow totals have been piling up for resorts throughout the day.

Sierra-at-Tahoe

To celebrate the new snow storm, Sierra-at-Tahoe is offering discounted lift tickets available at www.sierraattahoe.com.

For every inch it snows, Sierra is taking $1 off lift ticket prices. Tickets much be purchased online and the offer is only valid Saturday, February 2.

Sierra-at-Tahoe was reporting six inches of fresh snow by late Thursday and was expecting at least that much snow overnight.

Super Bowl at Sierra Pub: The resort will have food and drink specials, giveaways, and every TV tuned to the big game as the Broncos take on the Seahawks.

The Bud Light girls will be joining Sierra to give away prizes. Complimentary shuttles will be available to take skier and riders back toSouth Lake Tahoe.

Diamond Peak

At Diamond Peak ski resort, skiers and snowboarders were enjoying 8 inches of powder on Thursday.

The resort in InclineVillage opened new terrain today, including Dusty’s Delight, Lower Showoff, Wiggle, Chute, Luggi’s, and Powder.Diamond peak skier, on long run

The forecast is calling for more snow tonight and tomorrow. DiamondPeak snowmakers are ready to make snow when conditions and temperatures allow and it’s looking positive for tonight through the next few days.

Mt Rose

Thanks to its high elevation (9,700 feet), Mt. Rose ski resort  received 8-12 inches of fresh snow in at 12-hour period.

Today the resort had the following lifts open: Northwest Magnum 6, Ponderosa, Galena and Flying Jenny.

Sugar Bowl

At Sugar Bowl ski resort, the resort off Interstate 80 got 10 inches of snow from the storm and anticipates as much as 10 more inches tonight.
