Homewood Mountain offering $49 lift tickets

November 12, 2018 By Jeffrey Weidel

For the 2018-19 ski season, Homewood Mountain Resort will be offering the lowest lift ticket prices – starting at $49 – among Lake Tahoe ski resorts.

Powder days, like this one last year at Homewood Mountain, include not only great conditions but a spectacular view of nearby Lake Tahoe.

Skiing in Tahoe is certainly affordable at Homewood Mountain, a cozy, family-friendly ski resort located on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. Around since 1961, Homewood offers arguably the most spectacular views of Lake Tahoe from practically every trail. Skiers and snowboarders can travel along snowcat accessed terrain and some great tree skiing this season at Homewood Mountain.

On many days throughout the ski season, Homewood Mountain offers skiers and riders access to uncrowded slopes and excellent terrain for all levels.

Ahead of the 2018-19 winter season, the resort has invested in on-mountain improvements that include new portable snowmaking equipment, upgrades to its snowmaking automation, and top-to-bottom brush clearing on trails under the Madden and Ellis chairlifts.

A new cab for the snowcat will be used to transport guests participating in the resort’s guided Snowcat Adventure to the backcountry terrain located just outside the resort’s boundary.

“Our team is focused on creating memorable experiences for skiers and riders every time they visit Homewood,” said Kevin Mitchell, general manager of Homewood Mountain. “We anticipate the improvements we made ahead of this season will allow us to open more terrain sooner, and the events we have planned will add to the fun, relaxed vibe guests will find when they visit Homewood.”

Below are some Homewood Mountain highlights for the 2018-19 season.

First Tracks Breakfast

: Early birds looking for the freshest snow are invited to Homewood’s First Tracks Breakfast events on January 26, February 10 and March 3. Free for Homewood season passholders, First Tracks Breakfasts include a hot breakfast and coffee from 7-8 a.m., then the ability to load the Madden Chair as early as 8 a.m. to ski off the Old Homewood Express before the general public is allowed to begin loading at 9 a.m.

Non-passholders can purchase the First Tracks Breakfast Package for $99.

Community Cup Race Series: Homewood Mountain will introduce a new community race series modeled after summer club sport leagues.

Held on three Mondays throughout the season, the series requires no previous race experience and will be open to all skier levels. Participants (ages 21-above) will be required to register in teams, and races will take place off the Happy Platter beginner lift, where cold beer will be served at the bottom of the course. The Community Cup will take place February 11, February 25 and March 11, from 3-5 p.m.

Skiers and snowboarders can travel along snowcat accessed terrain and some great tree skiing this season at Homewood Mountain.

Tahoe Fusion Food Truck at the Big Blue View Bar: Resort guests who stop at the Tahoe Fusion Food Truck this winter will enjoy unmatched views of Lake Tahoe and a new menu created by West Shore Café’s executive chef Robb Wyss. Highlights will include specialty house-made burritos like the Philly cheese steak burrito, orange chicken burrito, Mediterranean burrito and more.

Ski and Ride Lessons: On January 21, first-timers are invited to join Homewood Mountain for a day that will include ski lesson specials, complimentary hot chocolate, s’mores and live music at the bottom of the mountain.

Third Annual Beer & Gear: Homewood’s annual Beer & Gear test event returns March 16-17 with a new twist. Participating ski and snowboard brands will be matched with a brewery to create a ski and sip pairing. Equipment demos will be offered free, lift tickets and beer will be available for purchase.

Season Passes: For those who haven’t yet purchased a season pass, prices start at $669 and feature no blackout dates or restrictions. Learn more or plan your winter trip to Homewood Mountain at www.skihomewood.com.
