The athletes of the Dodge Ridge Race Team (DRRT) have their goals set for another championship season in the USSA Far West Central Series.
For the past four seasons the DRRT, the largest ski team in the Central Series, has dominated the USSA Far West Central Series and won the prestigious Silver Cup along with numerous individual team member titles. With hopes high for a fifth straight win, the DRRT will convene for the 2014-15 season at the annual Race Team Weekend at Dodge Ridge on October 4-5.
Dodge Ridge Ski Area is located off Highway 108 in Pinecrest, and is the closest skiing and riding to Bay Area and Central Valley locations. The resort offers a 1,600-foot vertical drop, 67 runs, 12 lifts and 852 acres of skiable terrain.
The weekend activities begin on Saturday, October 4, with the DRRT Parent Equipment Exchange followed by the Race Team Social. The gathering continues on Sunday (October 5) with Race Team Orientation, presentations from the team coaches, and dry-land training with head coach Cory Perry.
Starting at 11 a.m. on Sunday will be one of the premiere events of the weekend as the Dodge Ridge Sport Shop hosts reps from some of the top racing equipment companies in the industry. Reps from Volkl, Nordica, Tecnica, Blizzard, POC and Rossignol will be on hand to give personalized, custom fittings for the athletes of the latest 2015 race gear.
Team members can take advantage of exclusive USSA pricing to ensure that they have the best equipment when they take to the slopes. The Sport Shop will also offer 25 percent discounts on select items to Race Team members and their families, as well as 50 percent full equipment tune ups.
Membership in the Race Team (ages 6-13) and Development Team (ages 5-8) provides the opportunity for young athletes to advance their racing and all-mountain skills with the ultimate goal being to develop a lifelong passion for the sport. The Dodge Ridge Race Team Weekend is open to anyone interested in learning more about advancing their child’s skills in all-mountain skiing and competitive ski racing.
