Alpine offers $49 deal for National Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month

Tahoe Donner kids skiingThis is a great deal for anyone who is interested in learning how to ski or snowboard in Lake Tahoe.

In celebration of National Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month (January), Alpine Meadows is offering a $49 Learn to Ski and Ride Special that includes a beginner lift ticket, equipment rentals and 2½ hour lesson –  offering a savings of $90.

Discount lessons Tuesday thru Thursday

The special National Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month deal will be offered for adults and kids (ages 8 and up) every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at Alpine Meadows Jan. 7-30.

“We are proud supporters of Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month and thrilled to offer such an affordable opportunity for guests to experience the sports we love so much,” said Dee Byrne,  managing director of Snowsports at Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows. “With the comfortable temperatures, sunny days and soft snow, the conditions are ideal for learning to ski or snowboard.”

Beginner skiers and riders can sign up for the National Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month online at www.skialpine.com. Guests can also sign up for the Ski and Ride Special at the Alpine Meadows Rental Shop. Walk-ins are welcome.

Three-Day Progression Package $180

For those who are hooked after just one lesson during National Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month, Alpine Meadows is offering the option to upgrade to get the additional two days of the Three-Day Progression Package for $180.

The Progression Package includes a total of three days of lessons, lift tickets, rental equipment, and a learn-to-turn guarantee for ages 13 and up. Lessons can be taken consecutively or spread throughout the season. Without upgrading, this package is offered daily throughout the season for just $329.

Current Conditions

Both Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows are open with top-to-bottom skiing and riding.

Squaw Valley currently has 13 lifts and 18 trails open. Alpine Meadows currently has eight lifts 30 trails open.

In addition to great skiing and riding, guests can also enjoy snowtubing, mini snowmobiles, ice skating, shopping and dining. Squaw’s new Wanderlust Yoga Studio also offers a full schedule of 19 classes per week, as well as great workshops. The Studio is located in The Village at Squaw Valley and is open seven days a week.
